When I met Grace a decade ago, I was going through one of the most difficult times of my adult life…a looming divorce from my best friend, looking for a new job after being out of the work force for several years, and facing age discrimination while trying to find a job in my field. My husband thought seeing a fashion consultant would help give me more confidence as I went through the networking and job interview process.

Before Grace, I was in the games industry so my style was very casual – jeans, t-shirts, chuck taylor’s, and athleisure wear. Fashion was never something I gave much thought to unless it was a special occasion. I was a tomboy growing up and I felt very comfortable with the easy going style I had at the time. Which meant I was also very uncomfortable with anything else.

I saw Grace for the first time at a Nordstrom’s style event. I liked her personality and her outfit. I was hoping she could take my personal style and “dress it up” a bit. At the time, I didn’t know having a personal stylist was a thing and I was a little intimidated by the thought. I also knew I needed to be pushed outside of my comfort zone.

I love that Grace has the expertise to evaluate my look, my body shape, listen to my needs/preferences, and take my style to another level. She made me consider colors and patterns I’d stayed away from since I was a teenager. I’ve had sessions with her several times over the years and one of the outfits that stands out the most is a flowery, long flowing dress she chose for a wedding. I would’ve never have gotten even remotely close to a rack of flowery dresses at that point in my life.

I was thrilled when she decided to transition to styling closets. It was something I’d been hoping she’d do for a long time and made perfect sense given her experience and background. It was so helpful to have her come over and go through my wardrobe with an eye for items that still fit, worked well together, worked for a variety of occasions and somewhat timeless. After she left, I was so excited that I organized my closet by colors and clothing type.

I remember feeling like a stylish grown up the first time I wore one of her outfits. I’ve received many compliments over the years and have shared my experience with Grace every time. I wish everyone could have the same opportunity. I think of Grace every time I go out to meet friends, former colleagues, casual or formal events…thanks to her, I feel much more confident regardless of the occasion. I look forward to working with her on maintaining my personal dress code, continuing to reflect my personality, as I go thought the aging process.

My wife and I have had the pleasure of working with Grace for the past decade, and it’s been an incredible journey.

Recently, I won an all-expenses-paid trip to a tropical destination—a combination of beach, pool, outdoor activities, meals, and parties with colleagues and my leadership team all the way up to our CEO. It was well outside my comfort zone, and I’ll admit, I was a little overwhelmed by the idea of dressing for such a variety of events. While I’m not overly concerned with what others think, I do want to feel confident and appropriately dressed.

Enter Grace.

I scheduled a session with her, and she came to my home to review my entire wardrobe. Together, we culled outdated pieces and identified key items that I needed for the trip—and for my wardrobe in general. The best part was seeing all my clothes laid out, with Grace helping me put together dozens of possible outfit combinations and visualize much more.

It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Grace worked with what I already had, and helped me shop for a few key pieces that elevated my look. Since then, I’ve been receiving compliments from friends, colleagues, and family—especially during my trip.
